Since my Fathers passing, I have given a lot of thought to how I can carry on his good name, and do some good for other people in his honor. I have decided to form a non profit Charity organization that is going to help raise money for not only Bladder Cancer, but also Prostate, Breast, Colon and all other types of Cancer research, to be donated to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and the Urology Associates of Northeast Florida located in Orange Park. The name of the Organization is going to be called “Herbies Heroes”, because I felt like my Father had so many people including family and friends as well as Doctors and nurses praying for him, and working diligently for him during his treatment. My Father would want us to teach people what we learned about this disease, and assist others inflicted in any way possible, and that is what we intend to do.

Herbies Heroes was created not only to honor its namesake, Herb Ellerbe 1932-2013, and the Doctors and nurses working together in his quest to battle Cancer, but also to help support future research, education, and access to not only Bladder Cancer that took my father, but all types of Cancer related resources. Join us in carrying out my Father’s constant wish, of paying it forward.
